Finding Your Strengths
Friday, September 16th, 2011
Friday, October 14th, 2011
8:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm
Polk State College
Lakeland Airside Campus

According to Leadership expert, Peter Drucker, most people do not know what their strengths are. Many of us have become experts in our weaknesses and spend our lives trying to repair our flaws, while our strengths lie dormant and neglected.

During this workshop, we will introduce this unique approach, which focuses on enhancing people's strengths rather than focusing on their weaknesses.

From the books "Now Discover Your Strengths", "Strengths Finder 2.0" and "Strengths Based Leadership" (New York Times Best Sellers list and ranked #1 with the Wall Street Journal & #1 with Business Week), this program will help participants leverage their top five talents for powerful results.

This book fully describes 34 positive personality themes (such as Achiever, Developer, Learner, and Maximizer) and explains how to build a "strengths-based organization" by capitalizing on the fact that such traits are already present among those within it.

The book contains a unique identification number that allows each participant access to the StrengthsFinder profile on the internet.  This Web-based interview analyzes their instinctive reactions and immediately presents them with their five most powerful signature themes.  Each participant will be asked to purchase the book “StrengthsFinder 2.0” and take the assessment prior to the workshop.  At the end of this session participants will be able to:
  • Understand their top five talents, what they mean & how they affect each person’s lives- personally and professionally
  • Understand the four domains of strength based leadership and find out what type of leader you are based on the combination of your top five talents
  • Create an action plan on how to build those top talents into strengths and how to implement them on a regular basis
  • Learn the value of focusing on our strengths vs. our weaknesses
  •  Translate your top strengths into personal & career success
